| 9. Holiday Pay and Entitlement for Irregular Hours and Part-Year Workers
On 1 January 2024 the government introduced changes to the Working Time Regulations 1998 with the aim to simplify holiday entitlement and holiday pay calculations for irregular hours and part-year workers.These changes apply to holiday leave years beginning on or after 1 April 2024, as such if your holiday year runs April to March then these changes will apply to your holiday leave year beginning 1 April 2024, if however your leave year is January to December then these changes will not apply until your leave year beginning 1 January 2025.These changes include:Definition of an irregular hours and part-year workerHoliday entitlement for irregular hours and part-year workersHoliday pay for irregular hour and part-year workersAccrual method and rolled up holiday payDefinition of an irregular…
